For bug reports, including the following helps us look into it faster.

Getting started

Where do I start?

Tap "+" in the project list and choose "Add Sample Project" to try a project with a floor plan and a shot list. The Quick Tour that runs when you first open a project can be replayed from the "?" menu at the top of the screen.

What's the difference between iPad and iPhone?

Handwriting with Apple Pencil and viewing two documents side by side are available on iPad. On iPhone you can read documents, take and organize photos, and edit stamps, shapes and text. Handwriting made on iPad is shown on iPhone too.

Documents

How do I import a PDF?

Open a project and import the PDF from "+". You can also send a PDF to ShootBinder from the share button in other apps.

Can I get back a document or project I deleted?

Deleted items stay in "Recently Deleted" for 30 days, and you can restore them from there.

Sync

My projects don't sync to my other device

Please check the following.

Photos and large PDFs may take a while to arrive, depending on your connection.

What should I do when I change devices?

Projects with sync turned on arrive on the new device once you sign in with the same Apple Account. For projects without sync, export them and import them on the new device.

Project sharing

How do I share a project?

In the project list, tap the project's "⋮", choose "Share…", choose whether only people you invite or anyone with the link can view it, and send it. People you share with can view only; they can't edit or export. Starting a share requires ShootBinder Pro (recipients use it for free).

The share link doesn't open the app

Make sure ShootBinder is installed and you are signed in to iCloud. Pasting the link into Safari's address bar opens a web page instead, so open the link from Notes, Messages, Mail or wherever you pasted it.

Can I write notes on a shared project?

Yes. You can write My notes (handwriting and text) that only you can see. The owner and other people can't see them.

How do I stop sharing?

Open "Manage Sharing" from the project's "⋮" to stop sharing, or remove people one at a time. People you shared with can leave from the project's "⋮" with "Leave Share". Either way, the project's contents are removed from their device (My notes they wrote are kept).

ShootBinder Pro

What's the difference between the free version and Pro?

The free version lets you create one project, with every feature inside it. ShootBinder Pro (one-time purchase) lets you create unlimited projects and share them.

Can I use Pro on my other devices?

Yes, on devices with the same Apple Account, without buying again. Tap "+" in the project list, open "ShootBinder Pro" and tap "Restore Purchase". Family Sharing is also supported.

I have more than one project on the free version

If you go over the free limit, for example through sync between devices, no project is deleted. You can edit only the first project you created, and view or export the others. To edit a different project, move the current one to "Recently Deleted".

Exporting and handing over

I want to give documents to someone who doesn't use ShootBinder

Export documents with their photos and notes as a PDF.

I want to give a project to someone who uses ShootBinder

Export a project, document or folder and send it. The recipient gets an independent copy. Real-time collaboration is not supported.

About power totals

Power totals are a planning estimate that adds up the wattages you enter. They do not guarantee electrical safety or that a breaker will not trip.
