Privacy Policy
Effective: October 7, 2026
Updated: October 13, 2026 (added project sharing, My notes, shooting location and current location, and purchases)
This policy explains how LGV Lab. ("we") handles information in ShootBinder, an app for iPad and iPhone (the "app"), and on this website. If this English version and the Japanese version differ, the Japanese version prevails.
1. Summary
- The documents, markup, photos and notes you create in the app are stored on your device and in your own iCloud. They are not sent to our servers.
- Only when you share a project can the people you shared it with see its contents.
- We do not collect personal data through the app. We do not use advertising or any mechanism that tracks you.
- On this website, we only count visits, without cookies.
2. Information handled by the app
Data you create
Imported PDFs, markup, photos, notes, stamps and other data are stored on your device. If you turn on "Sync with iCloud" for a project, the data is also stored in your private area of Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) and synced between devices signed in to the same Apple Account. We cannot see the contents of that area.
Project sharing
When you share a project, the people you invite, or anyone who has the link, can view that project's contents in your iCloud (documents, markup, photos, notes, stamps, shooting location and so on) through Apple's iCloud (CloudKit sharing). If your photos contain location data, that data reaches them too (the app tells you how many photos contain it before you start sharing). The names and email addresses of the people you share with are handled by Apple, and the list of participants is shown only on your device. We never see the contents of the project or information about the participants.
When you stop sharing, remove a participant, or a participant leaves the share, the project's contents are removed from their device. When you receive a shared project, it is stored on your device and the owner's name is shown.
My notes
My notes (handwriting and text) that you write on a shared project are stored on your device and in your own iCloud. The project owner and other participants cannot see them.
Shooting location and current location
To show the sun's path, you can set a shooting location on the north arrow. When you search for a place or pick one on the map, your search terms and the selected position are sent to Apple's map service to display the map and look up place names. The app asks for permission to use your location only when you tap "Current Location" on the map. Your current location is used only to show it on the map and is neither stored nor sent. The shooting location you set (latitude, longitude, place name and time zone) is saved in the project and is included when the project is synced, shared or exported.
Camera
The app uses the camera to take scout photos. Photos you take are saved in the project. They are saved to the Photos app only when you turn that setting on.
Importing photos
When you import photos, the app reads only the photos you select. If a photo contains location data, you can remove it when you export a project.
Exporting and handing over
When you export a PDF or a project, the file is sent to the people and by the method you choose (AirDrop, Mail, Files and so on). We do not receive it.
Crash and feedback information
If you have turned on "Share With App Developers" in your device settings (Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements), or if you send feedback through TestFlight, we may see crash logs and the feedback you sent through Apple. We use them only to investigate and fix problems.
Purchases
In-app purchases (ShootBinder Pro) are made through the App Store. Your payment information never reaches us. The app receives from Apple whether you have purchased, and stores only that result on your device so it works without a signal. Restoring purchases and Family Sharing are handled by Apple.
The app does not include any third-party tools for advertising or usage analytics.
3. Information handled by this website
This website is hosted on services provided by Cloudflare, Inc. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies and is not used to identify individuals. In delivering the website, Cloudflare may process access logs (such as IP addresses).
4. Information we receive when you contact us
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and your message. We use them only to reply, investigate problems and improve the app.
5. Disclosure to third parties
We do not provide the information we receive to third parties, except where required by law.
6. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the changes on this page.
